States of Louisiana and Arizona select Ultraforms® Technology to eliminate data entry costs

of Revenue for the States of Louisiana and Arizona, respectively,
have selected Ultraforms® Technology. This will allow both Louisiana
and Arizona to eliminate data entry costs, thanks to the ability
to deliver 2D barcode capabilities to their taxpayers through online
PDF forms.

It also provides taxpayers, who prefer not to file electronically, with an alternative that offers expedited processing over a standard paper return. In addition, it will enable DOR to further streamline processing of a wide variety of tax forms, eliminating the need to key data from the returns. Ultraforms® has been developed to perform on top of one of the most
popular and widespread platforms, Adobe Acrobat® Reader. No further
installations are required. Ultraforms® works from version 4.0 and
up. There is no need for additional plug-ins or lengthy time-consuming
downloads.
By Embedding Ultraforms® Technology in PDF forms, both States will be able to produce their own 2D barcodes, and will give the taxpayer a free opportunity to generate 2D bar-coded tax returns. The only requirement will be to have a version of Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or higher installed.
